Day out for Business Excercise

Hi All, Today I had one of the fascinating experiences which I never had before..A very interesting one which started with all the Simsites of batch 2008 Section-D present at Room 08 by 8:15 AM. Our task was unknown to us and all of us were very enthusiastic and eager to know what the day is holding for us. The task was then explained to us which said that all of us are supposed to leave the campus by 10:05 AM and reach the "camp" area by 11 am and we should be "employed" by 11:30 am and by 17:30 am we should have earned Rs 150. And all this was about "Knowing what we are good at!!!And where our strengths lie!!".

So we started without a single penny in our hand.. and how do we earn 150 rs?????? we started by asking everyone who is traveling by 4 wheelers for a lift !!!!!!!!!! Oh yes one more thing Earning the job was to be done in pairs . So me and my partner started by foot and only after a good hundred yards , we caught a bus driver.... who was very kind enough to give us the ride but only till the "E-Square". After which again on foot we were searching for the next ride and we got it but again only till a certain place. From there again on foot , by this time I was thinking how funny we must be looking with all of us attired in formals asking for lift and people suggesting us to catch buses or autos....., and finally at 10.30 am we got the final ride to our destination by a very interesting person by name Mr.Lal from Peshavar who was very amused to see us . When we told we are MBA students trying to earn Rs 150 , then he started telling us how he started earning his daily bread . I got inspired form his story, He was kind enough to drop us to our exact destination.

Then our search for the job started at SGS Mall, where we went to almost all the outlets and asked for a job.We reached The Pyramids shop where they told us to come at 11.30 as store manager was not present. So keeping our hopes up , we returned back to the pyramid at 11.30 to meet the "Manager". But alas!!! the Manager did not turn up. So we left the SGS Mall and continued our search on MG Road, there again we were disappointed to know that no one wanted to hire us :-( .
Finally we entered a small show room of safari luggage at 12.05 . There we spoke to Mr.Sunil (Front Desk Executive) who gave a ray of hope by allowing us to speak to his sales manager Mr.Keshav, who was first reluctant but after we convinced him by telling that we are ready to do any kind of work ( not only sales) , he finally took us in ............ :-) :-) . I was so happy that at last we got a job .( I know its a small job but ....)
So our work began by helping them to arrange some new stock which had just arrived. Mr.Sunil then gave us the brief introduction about different types of luggage( suitcases, handbags etc) , and about its texture, its dimensions, its features and what not !!!! So put all together , is about the basic information about the product so that we can explain it to the customers .Then a customer(foreigner) arrived who was interested in "Backpack with wheels" , but it was not available at the shop . Next it was lunch time , yet no customer visited :-(..... After that one customer arrived and he took product details and finally we managed to sell him one suitcase. After that there were very fewe customers and none of them had the intention of buying .
At 5.30 PM::
Mr.Sunil gave us Rs.150 each and took snaps with us . Finally we went back to our meeting place which is SGS Mall. After earning the money , with an elated feeling we went back to the college.
We managed to complete our task with in our time :-). It was of the most amazing and challenging experience I ever had.
